Evolution Korea
South Korea's democratic system is vulnerable to populist inclinations. Nonetheless, it is healthier than one would expect.

Origins

Baekje adopted Confucian ideas in its state beliefs system in 1390 CE, and introduced the male-centric concept of filiopiety into a doctrine. In the name of filiopiety, fathers were responsible to their families. They had to be obedient to everyone and respected by their grandchildren and children.
Goryeo, a nation that was ruled from 918 to 1392 CE and gave the world the Hangul Alphabet based upon the shapes created by the mouth when it pronounces. This dramatically improved communication between people and led to an explosion in the writing of Buddhist texts. Additionally, movable metal type printing was introduced, and woodblock printing was improved. It was at this time that the Samguk sagi, or 'History Of the Three Kingdoms' first appeared in 1145 CE.
Evolution in Korea
The Korean peninsula was habitable from Neolithic times to. Early evidence of human settlements is evident in the form cist graves paved with stone, with valuable items like amazonite jewelry that were buried with the dead. Gojoseon was the first state to be recognized during the first half of 1st millennium BCE. In addition, the northern region of the peninsula was occupied by the Balhae kingdom, which the majority of historians don't consider to be a legitimate Korean state.
After the Three Kingdoms, several smaller states emerged in the Proto-Three Kingdoms period, or Several States Period (yeolgugsidae). Baekje was the most powerful of these states was diminished by the fall of Goguryeo (676 CE) leaving only its southern regions in Manchuria and the its western region around Hwanghae Bay. Eastern Buyeo and the Gaya confederacy, prospered for a short period of time.
The Unified Silla Kingdom then emerged and the three kingdoms started to work together to expand their territories. In the final, Silla, with significant Chinese aid, conquered all other states and unified the peninsula in 935 CE.
As Korea enters a post-crisis phase its development model appears to be changing. Those who are appalled by the enormous cost of the old system are urging an extensive program of liberalization of capital as well as labor markets. On the other hand, people who support the old system seek to protect it by promoting nationalist sentiments, and by exaggerating fears about possible job loss.
Analysts and academics are divided over the extent to which Korea's development is influenced by these two trends. This article assesses developments to date by analyzing five phases of the country's political evolution that include the illiberal democratic period (1945-60) democratic authoritarianism (1961-72), authoritarian exceptionalism (1972-87) democratic paternalism (1987-2001), and participatory democracy (2002 to the present). This article also identifies key elements that are shaping these processes.
Creationism in Korea
In South Korea, 26% of the population is Christian. Creationists have succeeded in promoting their views to this group. A survey in 2009 found that nearly three-quarters of respondents did not believe in the theory of evolution. Of those, 41% claimed that there was insufficient scientific evidence to support evolution 39% of respondents said that the theory contradicted their religion and 17% claimed it was difficult to grasp. This level of disbelief approaches that of the United States, where a similar number of people do not accept that humans evolved from earlier forms of life.
In the past, most of the anti-evolutionist movement in Korea was focused on educating college students and bringing them to Christ. In 1980 the year 1980, a four-day creation science seminar was held in Seoul during the World Evangelization Crusade. Drs. Henry Morris and Duane Giss of ICR were the keynote speakers. This event was attended by an impressive crowd of scientists, professors, and church leaders.
The success of this event led to the establishment of the Korea Association of Creation Research (KACR) on January 31 1981. The inauguration meeting was widely covered in the national press, including The Korea Times and Chosun Ilbo and was well-received by the public.
KACR began publishing a monthly newsletter, CREATION, which published its activities and also published articles on scientific evidence for creationism. It also translated several slides and film strips from ICR as well as a few books on the subject of creationism, which were published outside of Korea. KACR members also gave talks in churches and universities throughout the country.
A KACR success was witnessed at KAIST University in Seoul. There, there were enough students fascinated by the concept of creationism that they raised enough money and support needed to build an on-campus museum featuring creationist fossil models and other exhibits.
In addition to its activities, KACR has published a bimonthly magazine, CREATION. This magazine covers topics in the field of creation science. It also hosted a series of lectures by ICR staff. It has also established an organization of local branch offices that give talks and seminars to children and other community groups.
Evolution in South Korea
In the latter half of the 19th century and into the early 20th, Korea moved toward a Westernised lifestyle. The traditional Korean dress, the hanbok, was replaced by miniskirts, as well as other foreign fashion elements. Similarly, traditional Korean music styles were replaced by modern rock and roll and jazz. During this period, the famous samulnori or the masked dance-dramas were very popular. These dramatic pieces were performed to the beat of shaman drummers as well as other instruments of music.
The economic crisis has formed Korea's new model of development. The primary challenge facing the new regime is to find the right balance between the state-led economic policies and market-oriented ones. Baekje, founded by Onjo the prince and third son of Jumong of Goguryeo was established by people from the Hangang River area, Buyeo and other regions and also by a migrant from northern China. Baekje, a major regional power in the 4th century, expanded its territory to Mahan in the north and Jeollanam-do south. As a result, it was in frequent conflict with Goguryeo and the Chinese commanderies across the border.
The decline of Silla between the 8th and 9th centuries led to the development of powerful local factions. Gungye was a nobleman from Later Baekje who established a kingdom in Songak with Songak as its capital. He was the ruler of a large portion of today's Jeolla province and Chungcheong. Then, he moved the capital to Wansanju and became a rival to Goguryeo.
However his rule was not long-lasting. 에볼루션사이트 , a powerful local leader who defeated Gungye in 935 and unified Goryeo, Baekje, and Silla, later incorporated Baekje into Goryeo without a fight as his successor. Wang Geon also introduced fundamental reforms, and strengthened the central government system. This marked the conclusion of the Three Kingdoms period. From then on, the Korean peninsula was ruled by the Goryeo Dynasty. In the Three Kingdoms period, Goguryeo, Baekje and Silla gradually developed into powerful states in Manchuria and on the peninsula.
